Developed by NYPA, this project provided solar thermal systems to the SUNY Maritime dormitory and cafeteria facilities. The use of solar energy to provide hot water reduces required production of steam from the campus steam boiler plant, allowing the plant to shut down during summer months.
This project included the installation of:
● A solar hot water and domestic water heating system including solar supply and return piping, fittings, valves, and specialties
● Domestic water piping, tanks, fittings, valves, and specialties
● System controls
● Tankless hot water heaters
● Domestic hot water storage tanks
● Domestic hot water circulation pumps
● Domestic hot water expansion tanks
● Exhaust fans, ductwork, and associated controls
