New York City Local Law 152 was developed to help prevent gas leaks and explosions. It requires the periodic inspection of building gas piping systems by a Licensed Master Plumber (LMP).
This project included the inspection – both visually and with combustible gas detection monitors – of exposed gas piping from the building’s point of entry up to tenant spaces including the building gas meters. All public spaces, hallways, mechanical rooms, and boiler rooms were also inspected. The inspections aimed to report any evidence of excessive corrosion and deterioration of gas piping along with illegal connections and non-code compliant installations. To date, we’ve successfully inspected over 2,000 NYCHA residential buildings.
